About Laura Steventon -
Oxfordshire based Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapist & Mind Coach
Laura Steventon AdvDipH
Hello and welcome,
Firstly, I understand that it may not be easy to ask for help or to accept that you need to change something in your life, it is one of the bravest things you will do.
I'm sure, like me, you will find that hypnotherapy and coaching will help you in so many ways. Some noteworthy things that I have personally overcome are curbing a chocolate addiction, getting rid of a sponge phobia (yes, I kid you not!). Most recently it has helped me to gain control over stress and anxiety.
Quality education and continual development training that I undergo regularly ensure that you are receiving the latest techniques in therapy as well as tried and trusted methods.
My clients are from all walks of life and have one thing in common and that is to want to live their best life, filled with a sense of freedom, contentment and inner radiance.
I am one of very few therapists in Oxfordshire trained up to advanced level for Clinical Hypnotherapy and I'm registered with 2 professional bodies whose code of conduct I uphold.
Training & Qualifications
Prior to training as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I was in Senior Management in companies with turnover in excess of £12 million. Other qualifications I hold are:
- Higher Diploma in Business Management
- Performance Consultant Certificate with Talent Dynamics
- International qualifications in Beauty Therapy
- 10 different types of massage
I am so passionate about helping people to live fully and confidently, whatever that looks like for them. Life can be so fleeting and for so many of us, we waste so much time feeling or thinking terrible things about ourselves. If you're a fan of Bronnie Ware's book "The top 5 Regrets of the dying" you will remember that the top 5 things that people on their death beds regretted were:
- I wish I had the courage to live a life to myself and not what others expected of me.
- I wish I hadn't worked so hard
- I wish I had the courage to express my feelings
- I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends
- I wish I had let myself be happier
These really impacted me, as I could relate to them all as I am sure you can too. It is this that I have realised that really underpins my work. My wish is for no one to have a dying regret of something they did not do or left unfulfilled because they held themselves back because they felt not good enough or anxious.
Whilst one of my particular nuances is that I don't ask therapy clients for testimonials, as explained on the FAQ page; I did ask people who know and have worked closely with me for well over 2 decades for some feedback on what they thought of me personally and what my strengths are:
Here are some of the top words they used to describe me:
- positive outlook,
- actively engaging,
- a supportive listener,
- and a forward thinking solution finder
"I really can’t thank you enough. Having come to you because I just wanted a good night’s sleep, I’ve come away with some additional changes to my thinking which are going to have such a positive effect in my life."
